Project overview

Learn how Safecoat delivered a staged flooring upgrade for Inghams’ Thomastown plant, installing a durable, hygienic polyurethane cement system that meets strict safety and compliance standards — all within tight two-day operational windows.

Challenges

Inghams needed to upgrade 800m² of flooring in a busy production area while ensuring compliance with Australian Standards for hygiene and slip resistance. The work had to be completed during short, two-day windows to avoid disrupting ongoing operations, requiring precise scheduling and fast turnaround.

The Safecoat Solution

We divided the project into two carefully planned stages, allowing us to fully prepare the substrate — including removing contaminants, diamond grinding, and moisture control — within the time available. We installed Nitofloor PU600, a robust polyurethane cement system topped with PU200 for added durability. To improve slip resistance and lifespan, we used bauxite as a non-slip aggregate instead of traditional silica sand.
