Tri-Fixx specialises in fastening systems for construction, enabling success and safety for construction projects throughout Australia. For their new 3,500m² warehouse they needed a floor they could trust, one that was cost-effective, but durable enough to stand up to years of heavy forklift traffic and foot traffic.
Tri-Fixx’s wanted to keep their existing concrete floors but also wanted to increase durability to reduce long-term maintenance costs. This meant finding a solution that had many of the benefits of epoxy, without being epoxy. The floor also needed to be easy to clean, abrasion resistant, and minimise dust in the space, which left us with one option.
For this project, we opted for Ashford Formula, a specialised sealer designed to penetrate deep into concrete. This allowed us to keep the concrete aesthetic while increasing its durability. Beginning with preparation, we inspected the concrete for imperfections, then scrubbed it to give us a clean slate to work with. We identified any high-traffic zones in the space and marked them out for an extra layer of treatment, allowing us to increase durability in integral zones without increasing costs. We then applied sealant evenly to the surface and kept wet as it cured to ensure maximum effectiveness. Finally, the floor was polished and put through rigorous QA testing to ensure quality, complete with documentation detailing the applied system and a care and maintenance manual.
